People are starting to become all black-eyed and veiny
I went to a linked article which Ausiello lauded as Joss Whedon speaking out on the news that the Kuzuis are planning to do another Buffy movie without him. Now considering the brevity of Joss' response, I can't hardly take it seriously that this is what Joss is truly thinking regarding this whole thing. So I'm going to chalk up Joss' response as him trying to give a response, any response, that would sound as diplomatic as possible without truly endorsing something that could desecrate his most beloved creation. Well desecrate it more than the first movie already did.

As predicted the fans had more to say about this than Joss did. Majority have said that they will boycott it. Some have threated to go all Dark Willow on their asses. One actually gave the business number of the Kuzuis. (Hmmmmm, I wonder if the international call rates will be low enough for me to harass them.) The whole situation is starting to look like Misery. But in reverse.

But the comments that really stuck with me are the two that made a reference to Anya's death. Yes, Joss is an Anya killer and I also have not yet fully forgiven him for it. Or for blinding one of Xander's eyes.

Anya-killing-and-Xander-blinding aside, I still think Joss is an awesome writer and his shows, no matter how really ridiculous in concept, have managed to become very solid story lines that had suprising depth. Because let's be honest, the idea of a high school cheerleader killing vampires while throwing witty quips is ridiculous. The same goes for cowboys in space. And yes, I was one of those people who refused to watch Firefly because of its ridiculous premise but was later on hooked. Dollhouse is actually the first show of Joss that didn't sound laughable on paper which makes it all the more sucky that it seems to be on life-support now that it has been relegated to the dreaded Friday Night schedule.

Bring out your pitchforks people!
Gaaaaah. Studio execs who try undercut the great and creative mind or Joss whedon have their heads in their heads yanked out of asses again. After pulling the plug on Buffy, Angel and Firefly (all of which have loyal fanbases that would not hesitate to cough up dough to get a fix of their fave shows) this article says that a group of these ASSHATS are floting the idea to do a Buffy movie without the guy who made all three great?!!!! Dicks!!!!

How do these people rise to their position when they obviously don't have any brains, taste or common decency? Don't they know that they should never ever ever EVER get on the bad side of really hard core and rabid fans? Don't they know that they shouldn't go there?

Well apparently didn't know and they did go there. Now the hive has been irritated and the natives are now sharpening their weapons of choice for the possible upcoming battle.

And since we are on the topic of Joss, I want to add that the shirt mentioned in the article is something I would love to have. Too bad the shipping costs an arm and a leg.

Mrs. Pong Pagong
I received a link to a video of our VP regarding the current focus of the company. As I as viewing it, I thought I had a case of deja vu because I could have sworn that a segment was repeated. I replayed the scene and saw that they did make a mistake in editing and the segment was indeed repeated.

They really should check these things. It's funny when we see slight mistakes in spelling or inserts in emails but unnecessarily extending a video featuring the VP, whom I refer to as Mrs. Pong Pagong, annoys me even if it is just for a few seconds. Any extension of such videos is one second too many. Also she said "overwhelming positive". Eh? Shouldn't that be "overwhelmingly positive"? Geez they don't even check the cue cards she's using. This is like that scene in The Big Hit where the girl they kidnapped was made to read their ransom demand and the cue cards she was reading was full of errors and she can't help but ask "Who wrote this?"

Archie in danger of becoming Moonlighting

I remember the time when the people from Archie tried something new and came out with non-graphic books that focused on the different characters in the Archieverse. I so loved that and was so bummed out that I didn't have the funds to buy one of them and didn't even know where to find them even if I did have. But I was able to borrow one of them, the one that I was most interested in, which was the one about Jughead's first love.

The point is that I loved their gimmick. Even from the first time I heard about it, I was excited. This new effort that I read in this article, is something that I am not very receptive to. Sure, I like it when things are given a fresh new twist but there are just some things that should be left well enough alone and for me, Archie is one of them.

I fear that this plot, wherein Archie is now a college grad and will finally choose between Betty and Veronica, will become the comic world's Moonlighting. As in, after the fulfilling the most awaited event, the whole verse loses its point and things just start to slide down from there.

But in the interest of owning a piece of history, I plan on looking for this comic and buying it.

What Century Is This Again?
Many of us believed that by the year 2000 we'd all be living in a very futuristic world with flying cars, robots everywhere and having all things controlled automatically. But beyond the fact that regualr people have a portable telecommunication device with them at all times, the future we imagined to be present is not.

But as much as that is a disappointment it is not really as distressing as the fact that in terms of human and civil rights, we are still pretty much stuck in the olden times. Bans on gay marriages, arranged marriages between an 8 year old girl and a 47 year old man, religious police beating women when they are caught driving or talking to a male non-relative, throwing acid at girls who attempt to go to school, genocide over ideoligical or religious difference are still occuring all over the world.

This is not to say that as a group we have not taken a lot of steps towards equality. But it is not enough. And it is my worry that instead of moving forward and creating more equality, we are on the path of turning things back. Back to denying people basic rights just because they are different from us. One step forward and three steps back seems to be our reality and I look at it and understand that things take time but can't help but be distressed that I may never see certain things come to fruituition in my lifetime. I envy the those who were part of the civil revolution in America for many of them lived to see an end goal that was achieved. It was a hard journey for them but they saw a milestone be achieved. Sure they still have things to do, there are still many things that are still not equal. But a very big hurdle has been cleared and now they see that all their efforts can make a difference and are not wasted. Will it be the same of the other forms of biases? I hope so.

Are Actors Taking Their Jobs Too Seriously?
In a recent altercation with the paps, Woody Harrelson claimed he did it because he thought the paps were zombies. He said that he had just been filming a movie with the aforementioned monsters, got confused and thought he was still on set. Now we have Keifer Sutherland head-butting a guy for accidentally jostling Brooke Shields which have people joking that in his state of drunkeness, Keifer might have channeled his alter-ego Jack Bauer and thought the guy was a terrorist out to knock down Brooke Shields.

In all honesty I believe this is all hooey. Harrelson's claim, though original and funny, would never fly. Even if he really thought he was still on the set, shouldn't it have occured to him that the whole sequence was not what was practiced during rehearsal? And we all know that Keifer doesn't need to channel anybody to start kicking ass.

But I must say that I still love Keifer. The man might go crazy with the booze but it is nice to see that he is equally inclined to defend the helpless with the same frenzy. It is just sad that on the 2 times he actually rose to defend someone, the first being an old lady being robbed and the second being Brooke Shields getting bumped accidentally in a crowd, they didn't really need defending. The thing with the old lady was a staged scene being filmed by 2 guys doing a video for youtube and Brooke Shields has taken harder hits before.

Then and Now
Gosh James Spader was a beautiful man. Now he's let himself go...just like Val Kilmer. Sooooooooooooooooooooo sad. But I still love him.

Below is a picture I got from a slideshow about where people, from the movie Pretty in Pink, are now.

They Should Change the Name of this song to "The Very Drunk Song"
After seeing this version, the song Just Dance suddenly made sense. Hopefully I am never drunk enough to do the stuff mentioned in the song.
